Welcome to Tzaneen Country Club
Tzaneen Country Club is situated approximately 10km outside of Tzaneen adjacent to the Tzaneen/Modjadjiskloof road, TCC is an undiscovered gem awaiting the eager challenges of those bold enough to bring their 'A-game' and to perform to the best of their abilities whilst not being intoxicated by the allures of this inland course's serine beauty.
A design which has matured through the years, the Tzaneen golf course is a course which rewards good shot making and that can be set up with a high resistance to scoring. That said, in the Limpopo Province the Tzaneen course is reputed to be one of the fairest tests of golf around and should have the high and low handicapper alike urging to book the next round. Covered with indigenous grasses and blessed with putting surfaces unmatched throughout Limpopo, TCC will compliment the player who can adapt to the subtle breaks and influences of the ever-present grain and will reward the golfer with putts dropping at a whim. Getting on the pure surfaces presents a challenge in itself. A blend of rolling fairways and punishing but fair rough combine to transform TCC into a shot makers paradise.
A thinking man's golf course, TCC will reward a well struck iron shot, but fairly punish the 'one that got away'. Standouts include the 1, 2 and 6 holes. The first being a challenging par five where strategy is the key and good course management should be rewarded with a par or better. The true visual splendour of TCC is personified with the view confronting the golfer as he steps upon the second tee. A one shotter measuring 164 metres with a significant drop in elevation, this par three has one recipe for success: hit it onto the green! The sixth is another par three with a drop in elevation where club selection is paramount and with a green designed to accept the good and repel the ugly.
Complimenting the layout at the Tzaneen golf course there are facilities to cater for the discerning golfer's every whim. A well stocked bar with an intimate fireplace creates an ambience that will have visitors becoming friends. A key fixture on the calendar is the annual Koraalboom tournament held in May that attracts a selection of local and visiting golfers for a weekend of golfing and good times. Golfers vying for a spot in this limited field, as early as the new year, is a common sight.
